Amundi launches three UCITS ETFs spanning space, critical metals and grids

The funds list on Xetra and Euronext Paris on Oct. 20, following summer launches covering memory chips and data centers.

At a glance

20-second brief
  • The funds are the Amundi Global Space Technologies UCITS ETF, the Amundi Global Critical Metals & Rare Earths UCITS ETF and the Amundi Global Electrification Infrastructure UCITS ETF.

  • Amundi puts net inflows into European thematic ETFs at nearly EUR22 billion in 2026 and describes the year as a record for the European ETF market.

Amundi has launched three thematic UCITS ETFs that will begin trading on Xetra and Euronext Paris on Oct. 20. The funds target space infrastructure, critical metals and power grids.

The funds are the Amundi Global Space Technologies UCITS ETF, the Amundi Global Critical Metals & Rare Earths UCITS ETF and the Amundi Global Electrification Infrastructure UCITS ETF. Space Technologies covers infrastructure, launchers and ground stations used for navigation, surveillance and global connectivity. Critical Metals & Rare Earths targets companies involved in metals and rare earths used in the AI value chain and in energy technologies. Electrification Infrastructure targets power grids and transmission and distribution assets.

The launch follows two thematic ETFs Amundi brought to market this summer covering memory chips and data centers. Amundi says thematic indices are a more efficient way to target a specific market theme, much as sectors were when they appeared decades ago.

Amundi puts net inflows into European thematic ETFs at nearly EUR22 billion in 2026 and describes the year as a record for the European ETF market. The firm cites demand from retail investors and digital platforms as well as from professional investors. Amundi's quarterly review this week put third-quarter net inflows to European ETFs at EUR127.4 billion, per our prior reporting.

Benoit Sorel, who runs Amundi's ETF and indexing business line, said the three funds give retail and institutional investors "a more precise way to access specific and high-conviction themes, such as AI and Future Technology." ETF Express reported the Oct. 13 announcement; the funds begin trading Oct. 20.
