Global X ETFs Europe has unveiled the Global X NYSE 100 UCITS ETF (NYSX), which will trade on the London Stock Exchange and Deutsche Börse Xetra, with more European listings to come. The fund tracks the NYSE 100 UCITS Index, a benchmark administered and calculated by ICE Data Indices, part of Intercontinental Exchange. Global X holds the exclusive UCITS ETF license for that index.

The fund is built around 100 US-listed technology and technology-enabled growth companies. The eligible universe includes ADRs and spans sectors, industries and exchanges. Global X's announcement describes the US equity market as home to many of the companies driving technological advancement and digital transformation, and singles out cloud computing, automation, data analytics and fintech as technologies now embedded across the broader economy. ADRs are in because the index aims to capture innovation wherever a company lists, not merely in one exchange's classification.

Gea Blumberg, co-head and head of business development at Global X ETFs Europe, put the thesis in one line: "Innovation is no longer confined to a single sector." Preston Peacock, head of ICE Data Indices, said the index is designed to be a more precise benchmark than "traditional, less focused" alternatives. The exclusive license gives NYSX a differentiation that matters in a European market already busy with technology launches this week. A day earlier, VanEck's semiconductor ETF opened on four exchanges.

How allocators treat NYSX, as core US equity with a growth tilt or as a narrower thematic bet, will show up in the flows. Global X has turned an index license into a distribution bet, wagering that technology now operates as an economic layer rather than a sector label.
