Global X leads 24 Canadian ETF launches in September 2026 with seven products

ETF Express's September list spans 11 issuers and tilts toward fixed income, with NBI adding five products and Vanguard one.

Global X led the September 2026 Canadian ETF list with seven products, more than any other issuer in a month ETF Express calls busy and that runs to 11 firms. The lineup moves along the curve and across the map, from a 3-10 Year U.S. Treasury Bond Index ETF listed under TMTX, TMTX.U and TMTX.F and a 1-10 Year Canadian Corporate Bond Index ETF (GCIG) to a Canadian Universe Bond Index ETF (AGGX), a Korea KOSPI 200 Index ETF (KORX and KORX.U), an Asia Semiconductor Index ETF (ACHP), an S&P/TSX Capped Composite Index ETF (CNDC), and an Artificial Intelligence Memory Index ETF whose ticker, DRAM, is the most literal on the page.

NBI came next with five, weighted toward yield and term: an Ultra Short-Term Fixed Income Fund (NUST), a Target 2032 Investment Grade Bond Fund (NTGG), and three SmartData strategies, among them a U.S. Equity Covered Call fund (NUCC), an International Equity Covered Call fund (NICC) and an Enhanced Yield U.S. Equity fund (NSUY). Middlefield launched an Alternative Global Fixed Income Fund (MAGF) and a Global Multi-Sector Fixed Income Fund (MGFI), and Manulife added an All-Fixed Income ETF Portfolio (MBND) plus a Smart International Dividend ETF carrying USD in its name and IDUV.U as its ticker.

Count the mandates and the spine of the month is fixed income: nine of the 24 products carry bond language in their names, a total that includes Middlefield's MAGF and MGFI, NBI's NUST and NTGG, Manulife's MBND, Global X's three bond index funds, and Vanguard's Global Core-Plus Bond ETF (VCOR).

The rest of the shelf splits between plain equity and structure. CI's Munro International Growth Equity Fund (CMIG, CMIG.U) is the straightforward growth vehicle; around it sit the shaped products. BMO's Strategic Autocallable Income US Large Cap ETF (ZACU, ZACU.U, ZACU.F) and Ninepoint's Enhanced Aerospace and Defense HighShares ETF (EDHI) and Enhanced U.S. Equity HighShares ETF (USHI) all package a payoff rather than a basket, while Brompton's Split Corp. Preferred Share ETF (SPLT.U), Westcourt Hamilton's Yield Portfolio ETF (WHYP, WHYP.U) and Corton Rosenberg's Global Macro Fund (ROSY, ROSY.U) round out the smaller issuers.

No fee or asset figure appears in the September list, which is the half of a launch that decides whether it stays. Taken as a statement of intent, the September crop sits on the barbell this publication has been describing: index and passive fixed income at the cheap end, active bond and yield mandates at the paying end, little in between. Six of the products appear under more than one ticker line, with ZACU and TMTX under three apiece and KORX, CMIG, WHYP and ROSY under two, which suggests issuers are seeding a full shelf from day one rather than a single ticker. Three of the 24 wrap equity in a yield structure, and how those gather will say more about where the Canadian shelf is heading than the bond count does.
