Nordheim Capital lists two kronor-denominated precious metals ETCs on Nasdaq Stockholm
The gold and silver ETCs are backed by LBMA-certified metal and custodied at J.P. Morgan in London; the announcement gives no fee and leaves the first-issuer claim unverified.
Nordheim Capital, a Stockholm asset manager, announced on 4 June that it had entered the exchange traded commodities market with two physically backed products on Nasdaq Stockholm. The announcement leaves its first-issuer claim and its fee schedule open. Nordheim Guld ETC (ISIN SE0028798900) is backed by LBMA-certified gold, while Nordheim Silver ETC (ISIN SE0028798918) is backed by LBMA-certified silver. Both are denominated in kronor and aimed, in the firm's framing, at Nordic retail and institutional investors seeking exchange-listed metals exposure.
Behind the two tickers sits a short operational stack: Svalner Atlas as fund administrator, J.P. Morgan Chase Bank N.A. in London as custodian, and Ultumus supplying the order management platform. That platform handles creation and redemption, the mechanical work of keeping a listed commodity product tracking its metal. Ultumus, which compiles roundups of new listed products as well as supplying the plumbing, also publishes the announcement. The release calls the arrangement an all-Swedish ecosystem approach, accurate for the administration and platform layers if not the London custodian.
Michele Gasparetti, Nordheim's CEO, says launching physically backed precious metals products to institutional standards requires reliable partners and credits Ultumus with supporting the launch. Bernie Thurston, his counterpart at Ultumus, describes the listing as an example of a new issuer bringing a well-structured product to market efficiently. He says the firm looks forward to supporting Nordheim as it expands its range over the coming months. That expansion is confirmed rather than hinted at: the gold and silver ETCs are the first phase of a product strategy with additional ETCs promised for the Nordic investor base.
A first-issuer claim resting on one source
Nordheim also describes itself as the first Nordic issuer of physically backed precious metals ETCs listed on Nasdaq Stockholm and traded in SEK. But with no roster of the issuers it is measuring itself against, the claim reads as the firm's own positioning rather than a settled market fact. Nothing in the announcement corroborates it.
No expense ratio appears for either product, and there is no seed size, assets under management, or first trading date. Fees are the first line an allocator checks when two wrappers hold the same metal, and on this record the two Stockholm listings cannot yet be measured against anything.
Where that leaves the launch depends on how thin the local-currency physical metals line-up on Nasdaq Stockholm actually is. If the first-issuer claim holds, Nordheim has taken a kronor-denominated slot that larger cross-border issuers have left alone, a gap filled rather than a shelf crowded. If it does not, the pair joins a European listed-product market already absorbing more launches than most platforms can promote. The announcement supplies its own data point and no evidence either way; the fee schedule and the promised follow-on products will say more.
